  • Background: Doxorubicin is a widely used cytotoxic chemotherapy agent for treating different malignancies. However, its use is associated with dose-dependent cardiotoxicity, causing irreversible myocardial damage and significantly reducing the patient's quality of life and survival. In this study, an animal model of doxorubicin-induced cardiomyopathy was used to investigate the pathogenesis of doxorubicin-induced myocardial injury. This study also investigated a possible treatment strategy for alleviating myocardial injury through resveratrol therapy in vitro. Methods: Adult male C57BL/6J mice were randomly divided into a control group and a doxorubicin group. Body weight, echocardiography, surface electrocardiogram, and myocardial histomorphology were measured. The mechanisms of doxorubicin cardiotoxicity in H9c2 cell lines were explored by comparing three groups (phosphate-buffered saline, doxorubicin, and doxorubicin with resveratrol). Results: Compared to the control group, the doxorubicin group showed a lower body weight and higher systolic arterial pressure, associated with reduced left ventricular ejection fraction and left ventricular fractional shortening, prolonged PR interval, and QT interval. These abnormalities were associated with vacuolation and increased disorder in the mitochondria of cardiomyocytes, increased protein expression levels of α-smooth muscle actin and caspase 3, and reduced protein expression levels of Mitofusin2 (MFN2) and Sirtuin1 (SIRT1). • Muzaffnagari sheep, an important mutton breed of India, born between 1978 to 2001, was maintained at the Central Institute for Research on Goats, Makhdoom, Mathura, to study the effect of important environmental factors on these traits. Data on body length, height at withers and heart girth at birth, 3, 6, 9 and 12 months of age were collected from 4287 Muzaffnagari sheep, an important mutton breed of India, born between 1978 to 2001, maintained at the Central Institute for Research on Goats, Makhdoom, Mathura, to study the effect of important environmental factors on these traits. Significant differences among sires existed within the breed for all the traits. The lambs maintained under individual feeding (ad lib, feeding) grew faster and were larger in all body dimensions and heavier weight than lambs reared under group feeding on each occasion. There were significantly marked periodic differences in all body dimensions and weights of lambs at all the ages. The parity of dam had significant effect on body size at birth and 3 months of age. The season of birth of lamb significantly affected the growth of some of the body dimensional traits under study. The sex and birth status of lambs were also significant for all body measurements. Males were heavier than females for all traits at all stages of growth. Single born lambs had a distinct advantage over those born in multiple births at all the stages of growth up to 1 year of age. The regression of weight of dam at lambing sho...

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of non-genetic factors on the growth and development performance of Inner Mongolia white cashmere goats (Erlanghan type), such as birth weight (BW), weaning weight (WW), 6-month weight (6 WT), 12-month weight (12 WT), body height (BH), and body length (BL), and wool production performance, such as cashmere fineness (CF), cashmere thickness (CT), and cashmere yield (CY). The research objects were 4654 kids produced by 45 buck goats and 2269 doe goats in the Erlang Mountain Ranch of Beiping Textile Co., Ltd., Inner Mongolia, from 2020 to 2023. Based on the generalized linear model, ANOVA was used to analyze the effects of non-genetic factors, such as birth year (Y), birth month (M), sex (S), birth type (T), birth herd (H), assay flock (F), age at measurement (MA), and the age of doe goats at lambing (DLA), on growth and development traits and cashmere traits. The results show that the birth weight (BW), weaning weight (WW), 6-month weight (6 WT), 12-month weight (12 WT), body length (BL), body height (BH), chest depth (CD), chest width (CW), chest circumference (CC), cannon circumference (CNC), wool length (WL), and cashmere yield (CY) of buck goats were significantly higher than those of doe goats (p < 0.01), and the fineness of the cashmere produced by doe goats was significantly finer than that produced by buck goats (p < 0.01). The birth weight, weaning weight, and 6-month weight of single kids were significantly high...

16. Quantitation of Cancer Treatment Response by 18F-FDG PET/CT

  • 1 sep 2017 · Third, readers were asked to measure the SUVpeak corrected for lean body ... Yunpeng Yang, Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy, 2023.

  • The aim of this study was to assess the interobserver variability of quantitative 18F-FDG PET/CT parameters used in assessments of treatment response across multiple sites and readers. Methods: Paired pre- and posttreatment 18F-FDG PET/CT images of 30 oncologic patients were distributed to 22 readers across 15 U.S. and international sites. One reader was aware of the full medical history (readreference) of the patients, whereas the 21 other readers were unaware. The readers selected the single hottest tumor from each study, and made SUV measurements from this target lesion and the liver. Descriptive statistics, percentage changes in the measurements, and their agreements were obtained. Results: The intraclass correlation coefficient for the percentage change in SUVmax (%ΔSUVmax) of the hottest tumor was 0.894 (95% confidence interval [CI], 0.813–0.941), and the individual equivalence coefficient was 1.931 (95% CI, 0.568–6.449) when all reads were included ( n = 638). When only the measurements that selected the same target tumor as the readreference ( n = 486) were included, the intraclass correlation coefficient for the %ΔSUVmax was 0.944 (95% CI, 0.841–0.989), and the individual equivalence coefficient was −0.688 (95% CI, −1.810 to −0.092). The absolute change in SUVmean of liver corrected for lean body mass showed upper and lower limits of agreement (average bias ± 2 SDs) of 0.13 and −0.13 g/mL. Conclusion: The quantitative tumor SUV changes measured across multiple sites...
